Download the Verity installer.
Run it on the computer or server where you want Navigator to live, not on your own laptop. It asks for your claim code and installs from there.
Windows
Verity.Installer-win-x64.zip
Right-click the zip and choose Extract All, then double-click
Verity.Installer.exe. The installer opens in its own window. Keep the file
somewhere you'll find again: you'll also use it to check on Navigator and install updates.
Linux
Verity.Installer-linux-x64.tar.gz
Extract it with tar -xzf, then run ./Verity.Installer. The
installer opens in your web browser. It's packed as a .tar.gz only so the file keeps its
permission to run.
Mac
Planned
The Mac version of the installer isn't ready yet. Until it is, use a Windows or Linux computer, or ask us to host Navigator for you.
Windows will probably warn you about this file
You'll likely see "Windows protected your PC" with a Don't run button. Windows shows this for programs it hasn't seen many times before. It doesn't mean anything is wrong with the download. Choose More info, then Run anyway.
If you'd rather not run an unfamiliar program, the terminal command below does the same work, and you can read the script first.
No download needed
Prefer the terminal?
If the server already runs Docker and you're comfortable at a command line, this does the same thing without the installer. Replace the placeholder with your own claim code.
curl -fsSL https://get.verityhq.app/dl/install.sh | sh -s -- VERITY-XXXXXXXX-XXXXXXXX
Careful about running a script straight from the internet? That's sensible. Read the script first, then run it from your own disk.
Before you start
What the computer needs.
Docker
Docker is a free program Navigator runs inside. Install it before you start; the installer checks for it first. What Docker is, and how to install it.
A claim code
Each code works once, for 24 hours. Request one if you don't have a code, or if yours has expired.
An internet connection
To redeem your code and to stay connected. No incoming port is opened on your computer at any point.
Somewhere to keep backups
The installer writes a backup script next to your settings. Point it at storage you control, and schedule it.
